| Resumo | Atmospheric correction of remotely sensed data is used to attenuate the atmospheric effects on the electromagnetic radiation registered by sensors. It consists on methods based on empirical models, like dark objects subtract (DOS), and atmospheric transmittance model. The first ones use the image data to specify the contribution of atmospheric scattering, while the seconds use atmospheric parameters or data from surface area, and they also consider the absorption effects. In this way, the aim of this paper is to evaluate the RapidEye images corrected by empirical models and atmospheric transmittance models. The evaluation consisted on the analysis of spectral curves obtained by the samples of pixels collected from images. It was observed difference between the reflectance of corrected images and the reflectance of top of the atmosphere (TOA). In the visible region, the values of TOA were higher than the values of corrected images, because the atmospheric scattering prevails in this spectral region. In the edger-red and near infrared bands, the reflectance of the images corrected by atmospheric transmittance model was higher than the reflectance obtained by empirical model, because the DOS model applied does not consider the atmospheric absorption that is predominant in these spectral region. |
